This past week we continued our Land and Water science unit, we explored what happens to both land and water when it rains. The students modeled rain by squeezing a bottle of water over the land, discussing the changes, and writing about their observations.

Welcome Back!
To ring in the New Year, we completed a selfie project where we wrote about our goals for 2016 and drew a selfie of our face. I let students take their own selfie if they wanted :)

Holiday Events
We began by having a whole-school movie morning, where we watched Snow Buddies with our blankets and stuffed animals. In the afternoon, we had our coin drive reveal, as well as the brass choir join us for some Christmas tunes.
A grand total of $2,545.31 collected in our Kid-to-Kid Coin Drive! Good job Marion-Walker!
528 Candy Bars for families in need.
Push-ups (well, those who could find the room).
Jumping jacks
Snowman Games!
As a whole-school reward and celebration, the different grade levels engaged in Snowman Games. There was snowman bowling, dress a friend as a snowperson relay, and cutting & decorating snowflakes. We had so much fun!
