Past Day

We were able to have such a fun day celebrating the end of our past unit.  We engaged in learning stations where students learned about school and games from the past.  The fact that so many children dressed up only added to all the fun.  Thank you so much for helping out with this!  I know it was hard enough for me to find an outfit!

Eisenhower Field Trip

On Friday we went to see The BFG at Eisenhower Auditorium.  It was a fun-filled trip where we were completely engaged by the theatrical performance!

Super excited on the bus ride there

Anxiously awaiting....

Oh Quentin!

Over 2,000 students were there, and we had awesome seats up front :)

Chilly snack on a chilly day!

Brrrrrr!

Pretending that it took a lot out of them ;)

Family Reading Night

Although I was unable to attend Family Reading Night on Thursday, I heard from the children what a wonderful time that had at the Superhero inspired literacy night!

5th Grade Book Buddies

We again had the opportunity to meet with our fifth grade book buddies :)  It was perfect timing as the children were able to share their Book-It creations before I turned them in for the contest.  They were so proud and excited to share their books!  Such talented authors!

Engineering Unit

Here are a few pictures of the children finishing up our engineering unit.  The students were asked to pick the best location for a wire bridge.  We explored different factors that would affect this such as erosion, distance to necessities, soil composition, and compaction.  After selecting a site, children tested out the soil components with different levels of compaction, and added weights to see how much it could hold.  We compared and discussed our interesting results :)
