Every Day 1, we enjoy reading with our fourth grade book buddies from Mr. Burrows class. Friday was our first meeting, and we already can't wait for the next!

After a busy week, full of fun and hard work, we were excited for the weekend! But we're also ready for another great week!

This past week we began our reading unit which focuses on the theme question, “What do my different roles say about me?” We continued to practice our classroom routines and began small reading groups. I truly enjoy getting to know each of my readers; they are already blowing me away with their abilities :) This week we will begin our first inquiry project, where your child will interview another student about their different roles at home, school, and in the community.

We will finish up unit one in math, which focused on numbers and routines and will begin unit two, addition and subtraction strategies. For spelling, we will practice long vowel patterns. Please remind your second grader that their spelling packet is due Friday. We will also continue exploring the traits that make great writers. I am excited for a wonderful week!

This past Friday the Lady Lions visited our school! They discussed the importance of treating others with respect and kindness. They helped us to continue to celebrate our School-Wide rules! Thanks Lady Lions!

School Wide Rules

We have been busy reviewing our school wide rules and practicing these both inside and outside of the classroom. Here are Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Yontosh discussing cafeteria and bus behaviors. We are all set to Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Here and Be Ready this school year!

Our Classroom!

Our classroom was all set up and ready for the second grader’s arrival on Tuesday! We loved exploring our new learning environment :)
