Carnival

It was so nice to see families at Marion Walker's annual Winter Carnival!  In between selling tickets, I was able to snap a few shots of children I was able to find through all the madness ;) What a fun time!

Reading Counts Assembly

On Friday we had our first Reading Counts assembly for the year.  Many children were awarded for their amazing reading and accumulation of RC points.  We had quite a few winners in our class, and many others who were super close to an award.  I know that the next assembly in May will be filled with even more winners.  I am so proud of my class!!!

Welcome Back Cameron!

Cameron returned this week from an eventful cruise with his family.  He is quite the history buff who taught us all about his journey to Miami, Belize, Mahogany Bay, the Mayan ruins, and many more :)  He brought in some wonderful souvenirs for us to see! It is so wonderful when the children can share  their adventures with their peers!

100th Day of School!

Can you believe we have been in second grade for 100 days?!  I cannot believe how fast this year is flying by!  On our 100th day we did a lot of 100 activities including what we could do in 100 seconds, made as many names as we could for 100, completed 10 exercises with 10 of each (to model 10X10), and wrote about what we would do if we had 100 dollars.  Be on the lookout for our class book coming home soon!

Puppets

I have been SO impressed with the children's work on this month's book report projects.  The children have truly grown so much since the start of the year, and their presentation skills are no exception.  The children have increased confidence while speaking in front of others, provide excellent summaries with loud and clear voices, eye contact, use of visuals, and AMAZING character voices!  I am so proud of them :)  Thank you for helping them to prepare! More to come this week!
